IT Project ManagerLocation: San Francisco, CAJob Description:We are looking for an experienced project manager with a proven track record of being solutions oriented and delivery driven. The project manager will be responsible for working with business stakeholders to provision, schedule, and implement the IT infrastructure components required for use on a client engagement. Responsibilities: * Manage and direct IT projects, including analyzing hardware and software requests, advise and recommend appropriate hardware/software, manage vendors, negotiate pricing of services and co-ordinate with the IT team to install the required components. * Work with the Professional services group (PSG) Engagement Team to develop an IT Project Plan that includes goals, timeframe, dependencies between tasks and modeling effects of external dependencies. * Act as a liaison between the PSG Engagement Team, the Operations Team and Engineering to control information flow and to represent project developments and needs for all sides. * Identify, track and report critical path and risk items. Maintain a risk register and work closely with CAST and PSG Engagement Team to develop risk mitigation strategies. * Work closely with IT managers and appointed project leads to ensure that project goals and milestones are accomplished in accordance to the needs of the PSG Engagement Team and other customers. * Coordinate closely with external vendors to develop long term pricing and support strategies for hardware, software procurement, data center and ASP vendors. * Ownership of performance metrics and project results information from IT/CAST Team and provide regular and detailed reports to PSG Engagement Team, Engineering and ManagementQualifications: * BS in Computer Science, business, or related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred. * 6 years experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment with 3-4 years of direct IT project management experience. * Experience managing cross-functional team projects using standard project management tools. Proven leadership and management skills with ability to manage teams of technical and business resources. * Some experience with Windows 2003/2008 Server platforms with an emphasis on Active Directory. Exchange 2000/2003 messaging system, knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations to include experience with HP switches and Internet firewalls. * Background supporting telephone systems such as Avaya, Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills * Outstanding decision making, analytical and problem solving skills. * Demonstrated ability to ensure success on all projects through proven track record of applying proven methods and tools to enterprise-wide project implementations with the ability to negotiate and manage business partners and external vendors * Experience developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraintsdf-tc
