POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Relationship Manager ? Tax and Audit Technology is responsible for the daily interactions between the National Tax and Audit practices and the Information Technology ( IT ) department. The individual coordinates the state of current technology services for assigned customer groups, communicates and collaborates with various members of IT and business units on new projects, and works to provide better technology services in a growing accounting firm.

Additional responsibilities will include matrix management of new customer-led technical initiatives within the IT department, resource planning, issue tracking, and providing ongoing status reports to the firms Chief Information Officer and Directors in IT on all systems / projects assigned.

This is a technology management position combining a thorough knowledge of all aspects of tax and audit services delivery and supporting business technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Communicate and coordinate all business needs, initiatives, projects and issues within the IT department.
-Understand the use, application, and integration of technology in the accounting industry.
-Manage and deliver all tax / audit technology projects.
-Act as an effective customer advocate and liaison within the IT department and champion business needs and priorities.
-Responsible for the daily operational state of all assigned information systems.
-Responsible for numerous information systems and coordination of systems experts, database administrators, engineers, and IT managers in a matrix format.
-Execute new projects successfully in line with a formal methodology which assures business results.
-Provide regular communications and coordination of inquiries, status, and results across multiple projects and areas within the tax / audit departments.
-Management relationships and coordinate needs in a timely, effective manner between the business and the IT department ? and deliver results on target and on schedule.df-tc


Experience/Skills
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor?s degree in MIS, Business Management, Finance, Computer Science, or related field. Finance background / minor preferred.
-7 to 10 years of experience with demonstrated success and increased responsibility in the development, operations, and maintenance of enterprise information systems.
-3+ years personnel / operational management experience in one or more information systems.
-Thorough knowledge and understanding of the public accounting industry and its use of technology to deliver tax and audit services.
-Through knowledge and understanding of professional standards and regulatory compliance in the public accounting industry.
-Previous experience working in the Professional Services / Accounting industry in a medium to large organization as a practicing client service professional a plus.
-Previous experience with the application of knowledge management best practices as it applies to tax, audit, and advisory services in the public accounting industry a plus.
-Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills.
-Strong training and presentation skills in individual and group settings.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Ability to integrate procedural steps and processes with technical requirements and system functions to assure successful delivery of work.
-Experience with following and applying a formal project management methodology and change management methodology to the implementation of new / upgrading existing systems.
-Team-oriented, flexible, and able to work in a constantly changing business environment.
-Ability to work additional hours as necessary.

-Customer satisfaction as measured by regular surveys and input from IT and business customers
-Operational effectiveness including measured up-time, performance of systems, and accuracy of results
-Project management success as measured by ongoing and end of project reviews
