Position Overview:
Independently determines methods and solutions for a wide variety of difficult systems analysis and/or computer application problems, selecting the most efficient and economical means to meet established goals and objectives.Applies current information technology (IT) techniques and analyses.

Specific Responsibilities:


Develop, maintain, upgrade, ensure reliability, and provide training for several custom MS Visual FoxPro 9 applications and databases utilized by NASA Goddard FMD covered under the Parsons FaCETS contract


Provide end user and desktop support for all MS Visual FoxPro 9 applications


Responsible for the compliance of the NASA IT Security Policy for the respective supported applications


Attend weekly meetings with the Information Resource staff and FMD Management to review open action items, and develop enhancements to the supported applications


Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate


PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


5 years of experience with MS Visual FoxPro development


3 years of experience working with SQL and Reporting Services


2 years of experience with Windows Server 2003 administration


2 years of experience of Oracle database administration


4 year degree in Computer Science or related curriculum (or equivalent)


Experience with .NET Framework desirable


Experience with Stonefield Query desirable


Excellent customer service and business writing skillsdf-tc

Experience/Skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Computer Science or related curriculum (or equivalent) and 5-10 years of related work experience.


SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Requires a thorough understanding of current software applications and technology. Proficiency in utilizing multiple programming languages (e.g., C++, Visual Basic, JAVA, etc.). Also requires good written and oral communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with user and IT colleagues on technical and non-technical subjects
