The Security Administration Department protects Humana's Information Technology Systems by controlling access to systems, application and data on a need to know basis. Security Administration is responsible for security controls and review of account access to help ensure regulatory compliance. The team is responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Grants appropriate approved access for associates, contingent workers and external partners.
  • Works with internal and external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains SOX and SAS-70 narratives.
  • Ensures proper business and security agreements are in place for external customers.
  • Works with Enterprise Information Security (EIS) to continue developing enhanced IT Security policies.
  • Provides resources to work with internal business partners to implement new systems, enhancements to current systems, applications, acquisitions and other key information technology initiatives.
  • Implements IT Security controls for data access and user identity management.

    Reports directly to a Technology Manager in Security Administration.

    This position works to complete departmental activities as directed by the Director/Manager of the department. Analysts on the team are responsible for the implementation of tactical goals as defined by the IT Security Administration management team. They are also responsible for following processes that are created and to meet the objectives of the security controls that are put in place to meet the information security needs of Humana's stakeholders. In addition, they are expected grant/remove appropriate approved access. Other critical aspects of this role:

  • Analysts should understand regulatory and technical theory that underlines IT Security Administration operations.
  • They should understand basic principles of IT Governance.
  • They should understand advanced network principles and access controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of security access and controls as they relate to security on systems, applications and database layers.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledgeable of IT project management methods and best practices.
  • Be versed in business analysis and process improvement methodologies, development and maintenance of knowledgebase procedures and solutions.
  • Consultants should also be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products.
  • An understanding of ITIL concepts (perhaps including ITIL Foundation Certification).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Professional certifications that would indicate foundational knowledge would be CISSP, Security+, CISA, PMP, CAN, MCSA, MCSE.
