Description
An administrative position requiring technical, communication, and management skills and abilities in Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy and Security regulations, Information Technology (IT) security, facilities management principles and practices, and disaster recovery planning. The incumbent possesses and applies a fundamental knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures related to security administration requirements.

Directs and manages all operations of the Privacy and Security Program, including problem resolution, report generation, and data analysis.

Advises management on issues related to compliance, legal regulations, and Company objectives.

Serves as an internal expert, planning and conducting assignments for long-term projects.

Applies comprehensive knowledge to unique situations and important projects.

Coordinates the work of others and has functional responsibility for managing account-wide privacy/security programs.

Works under limited supervision; acts independently on original tasks of an advanced, non-routine nature.

Identifies, reports, documents and develops training solutions for security risks and incidents in the site.

REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans privacy/security-related goals and objectives and organizes function accordingly, including the implementation of policy and the establishment of internal operating practices and procedures.

Provides guidance to staff to ensure the effective maintenance of the same.

Administers internal privacy/security policies, procedures, monitoring, incident management, and training; assesses controls and monitors activities of units to ensure compliance with HIPAA, corporate, and federal security requirements.

Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster security and privacy awareness within the organization.

Provides guidance and/or takes corrective action as necessary.

Acts as point of contact for internal client departments to resolve problems and acts as in-house consultant, providing expertise regarding matters affecting facilities functional activities.

Encourages positive work environment and productive staff relations.

Represents department to internal/external stakeholders and customers on matters affecting department. Represents privacy/security function to ACS management, resolving problems or conflicts. Participates in related presentations.

Manages workflow operations to ensure efficient operation; devises and implements corrective action as required.

Keeps apprised of developments in field of expertise to ensure currency and makes recommendations to senior management to improve efficiency/effectiveness of facilities functions.

Investigates security matters (e.g. thefts, fraud, risks) and analyzes/provides security assessments for high risk/high incident areas.

Assist in the support of all information security test procedures to include the scheduling and organizing of tests.

Assist with coordinating the activities schedule of each exercise participant and the retrieval of backup tapes.

Assist in monitoring and documenting the exercises and submit to management reports reviewing the testing results.

Completes other duties as assigned.


SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
---------------------Comprehensive knowledge of:
HIPAA privacy/security legislation and regulations

IT security standards and controls

Previous experience as a Privacy/Security Manager or equivalent position in a healthcare, BPO, or IT company preferred.

Ability to take a broad view of the position and take initiative to communicate, interact, and cooperate with others to ensure that all aspects of a task are addressed.


Ability to contribute to a strong customer relationship through interactions with customer personnel.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of internal and external customers.

Proficiency in using PC software, including word processing and spreadsheets.df-tc
