Title: IT Sourcing Analyst I,II or SR

*This position can be located in either Eden Prairie, MN or Boise, ID

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Maintains responsibility for negotiation and sourcing of Information Technology hardware, software, and service contracts. Works with assigned strategic IT vendors to provide data analysis and administrative support to achieve the goals of the IT Strategic Vendor Program. Manage IT vendor disputes and respond to IT vendor contract inquires. Negotiates and sources in accordance with all policies and procedures established by the Company.

  • Reviews acquisition costs with Subject Matter Owner and business clients to ensure items purchased are at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of funding, requirements, reliability of source, and urgency of need.
  • Negotiates and executes renewals for maintenance, lease, and additional licenses. Promotes the use of SVU IT contract templates for any and all negotiations. Assists with the IT Vendor Management strategic planning process.
  • Works with IT Asset Management, Subject Matter Owners, Business clients and vendors to identify and negotiate contract consolidation opportunities to eliminate/reduce costs, contracts and vendors.
  • Manages vendor performance against contractual service level agreements (SLA) and escalation between SVU and IT vendor(s).
  • Reviews and analyzes Vendor Management processes and contributes to making them efficient and reduce costs.
  • Works with a cross-functional team conducting software compliance reviews and creating proposed resolution when required.
  • Guides/consults Vendor Management clients using the Vendor Management Self Service process.
  • Reviews and resolves vendor disputes by interfacing with vendor contacts and Subject Matter Owners.
  • Maintains strategic vendor performance surveys, reports and web content.
  • Coordinates with executives and selected vendors the semi-annual strategic vendor meetings and the annual Vendor Summit meeting.
  • Communicates the Strategic Vendor Program to internal departments and introduces the program to newly selected IT vendors.
  • Maintains assigned projects, renewals and financial details in Vendor Management database.
  • Supports and implements corporate and department initiatives.


    Scope

    IT Sourcing Analyst I – Contract sourcing up to $250,000. Manage tier 2 vendors in Strategic Vendor Program (SVP). Train on two sourcing events up to $500,000 and lead two sourcing events as approved by supervisor.

    IT Sourcing Analyst II – Contract sourcing up to $500,000. Manage tier 2 and tier 1 vendors in SVP. Lead four sourcing events as approved by supervisor.

    IT Sourcing Analyst SR– Contract Sourcing up to $750,000. Manage tier 1 vendors in SVP. Lead six sourcing events.


    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience:

    IT Sourcing Analyst I:
  • Degree in Business, Management, Finance or related field or relevant experience of, accounting and financial management practices preferred.
  • Requires at least two years professional experience.
  • Familiar with basic procurement, negotiations, cost analysis and sourcing.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, experience in taking initiative and making appropriate decisions.
  • Planning and organizing skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships within and outside the company.
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office, and some specialty software.
    IT Sourcing Analyst II:
  • Requires two years buying experience.
  • Understanding of IT procurement, negotiations, cost analysis and sourcing events.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, experience in taking initiative and making appropriate decisions.
  • Strategy development skills
  • Relationship management skills
    IT Sourcing Analyst SR:
  • Requires four years buying experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, negotiations, cost analysis and sourcing events.
  • Familiarity with IT financial planning.
