TITLE: IT Sourcing Manager (Vendor Management)

*This position can be located in either Eden Prairie, MN or Boise, ID

PURPOSE:

Sources and negotiates Information Technology (IT) hardware, software and service contracts with the goal of lowering costs of goods, ensuring quality and service by leveraging total company spending.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the development and negotiation of contractual performance metrics and service levels.
  • Leads negotiations in assigned categories (in partnership with subject matter owners).
  • Negotiates and implements IT agreements/contracts.
  • Monitors, reports, and troubleshoots non-compliant spending.
  • Collaborates with strategic vendor management processes including vendor scorecards, product/service quality surveys, and manages vendor feedback.
  • Evaluates and possesses a strong understanding of technology total cost of ownership cost elements.
  • Leads a cross-functional team of business owners, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders through the Vendor Management process.
  • Researches and recommends alternative sources of supply and vendor selection with appropriate collaboration with subject manner owners and the architecture team.
  • Communicates issues and reports to management and takes action as appropriate.
  • Develops long-term strategic planning with key vendors to bring competitive advantages to the business.
  • Tracks project details and cost reduction programs within a central repository.
  • Develops new, and continuously improves Vendor Management processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborates with Strategic Sourcing for global sourcing efforts and agreements greater than $1 million in contract value.
  • Develops new, and continuous improvement ideas for team processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.


    SCOPE DATA:

    Level I Contract sourcing generally less than $750,000 per agreement
    10 active sourcing projects at any one time

    Level II Contract sourcing generally greater than $750,000
    15-20 active sourcing projects at any one time


    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Finance or related field.
  • Previous experience with IT contract or procurement related experience typically gained from positions in IT commodity management (hardware, or software), strategic sourcing, project management or similar positions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess high degree of initiative, creative, innovative, proactive skills and abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships at all levels of the company and in the business community.
  • Good project management, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • High level of analytical and financial skills.
  • Possess the ability to create and make management presentations.
  • Understanding of technology cost structures.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts.
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

    Manager I
  • 3 + years technology sourcing related experience typically gained from positions in IT commodity management (hardware, or software).
  • Under direct supervision gathers and validates total cost of ownership data, prepares negotiating strategy, gathers project requirements, participates in and executes negotiations, develops executable documents, working toward level of independence with sourcing projects.

    Manager II
  • 5 + years technology sourcing related experience.
  • Independently gathers and validates total cost of ownership data, prepares negotiating strategy, gathers project requirements, participates in and executes negotiations, develops executable documents, working toward level of independence with sourcing projects.
  • Provides guidance, training, and mentoring of less experienced sourcing staff (Managers and Analyst).
