Hilton Hotels Corporation Position Description Position Title: Information Technology Specialist FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt Department: Information Technology Brand: Reports to: Director of Information Technology Date Written/Revised: 01/01/2005 Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose: Provides user training and support of all hotel systems, network enhancements, hardware and software support. Assist with the implementation of technology initiatives with corporate IT to ensure alignment with overall IT direction. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Average Percent of Time 50% Implements solutions to user challenges and concerns associated with the use of personal computers and telephone equipment. 30% Install high speed internet equipment in guestrooms and meeting/conference facilities ensuring timely removal of all equipment. 10% Install and repair computer, network and telecommunications equipment. 5% Respond to request for placement, removal or repair of telephones and telephone jacks in staff offices, retail stores, exhibit halls, meeting and guestrooms. 5% Install and troubleshoot Data, Voice and Fiber cabling infrastructure. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the company from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company. Assists with other areas of IT as required Supports other departments as needed Supports hotel guests as needed Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision Document reported problems utilizing call tracking system and note final resolution of implemented solution Provide ordering, training, and expertise on telecommunication services which include telephone hardware and software, automatic call distribution, voicemail services, and cellular phones Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and customer relations skills, an eye for detail and confidence working in a demanding environment Maintain order and cleanliness of computer and telephone equipment rooms Analyze, prioritize and appropriately respond to trouble tickets Provides support services to end users for hardware and network connectivity problems Responds to telephone calls, email and requests for technical support Handle installation of telephone cables as needed or requested.
