Synergis is currently working with a large utility company to help them locate an IT Specialist.

Job Summary

The position provides IT desktop supportto a plant located in the Dothan, Alabama area. The specificresponsibilities include inventory management, coordinating the PC Lease/Termprocess, and fulfilling customer hardware and software requests throughestablished procurement channels. The position also provides installation andsupport for computers, standard software products, printers, scanners andother peripherals.

Education Requirements

AA/AS degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degreeis desirable. Related work experiencewill be considered

JobResponsibilities

• Provide inventory and asset management
• Coordinate the PC Lease/Term process
• Provide installation and support for computers, standard software products, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
• Provide procurement support for client requests, including request tracking and invoice processing
• Primary focal point for employee adds/moves/changes affecting IT products and services
• Educate customers on how to use standard products more effectively
• Diagnose and resolve problems to meet service level expectations
• Provide specialized technical support as needed
• Utilize Clarify to track work and provide updates on assigned cases
• Follow standard IT processes for hardware, software, project management, problem resolution and change management

Other Responsibilities

• Must carry a company-provided company radio when off work and not at home
• Minimal travel as required for off-site business meetings and training
• Provides on-call support for the Inverness Complex on an approximate 10 week rotation schedule.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated knowledge of problem solving and analytical
• Proficient on the use of Clarify
• Understanding of IT infrastructure, Servers and networks
• Understanding of desktop configuration
• Knowledge of customer s business and local technical environment
• Ability to learn new products and desktop software as needed
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access and Word
• Well organized and demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Dell Certification a Plus
