Description
As the Information Technology Storage Administrator, you will have a bachelor=E2=80=99s degree or equivalent work experience along with 3 plus years experience in Tivoli Storage Manager in an IBM/AIX environment, 5 plus years of AIX system administration and 3 plus years experience with UNIX server tuning, optimization and capacity planning. You will also have server clustering technologies (HACMP) and IBM Power 4 and Power 5; LPAR technologies experience. It is expected you will be able to produce technical documentation and network architecture diagrams and be willing to write detailed documentation and adhere to corporate standards/change management policies.

In this role, you will support large-scale Tivoli Storage Management AIX Installation; including policy management, storage pool configuration and maintenance, LTO drive and tape management, occupancy management, TSM Database maintenance and system documentation.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform TSM client installs including Exchange, SQL, and Oracle TDP clients, Lan-free, Server-free, NDMP; backup scheduling, client option set creation and maintenance, restore and Archival operations, define new nodes/ Backup Schedules\New Associations.
- Assist with UNIX System Administration for clustered AIX Servers running HACMP and dynamic LPARs with
fiber attached SAN storage.
- Assist with performance and tuning of AIX Oracle database servers.
- Provide support for other UNIX based applications and servers on an as needed basis.
- Develop partnerships with engineering, operations, and application development groups.
- Produce project plans and report on progress to management.
- Monitor, implement and update Netapp backups and configuration paths.
- On call 24x7 for problems, emergency storage issues, failed equipment, etc.
- Monitor Tape library and drives: Check LTO Specialist and AIX error logs.
- Assist with Hardware/Microcode Upgrades on IBM 3584 tape robotic equipment.
- Perform Health Check for ALL TSM Servers and resolve all issues.
- Monitor TSM Database, recovery log and storage pools and extend if necessary.
- Performance tuning on the server and clients to optimize TSM capabilities.
- Perform advanced TSM training for Storage Administation staff and basic training for DBA's.df-tc

Experience/Skills
Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor=E2=80=99s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years experience with Tivoli Storage Manager in an IBM/AIX environment.
- Server clustering technologies (HACMP).
- IBM Power 4 and Power 5; LPAR technologies.
- 5+ years experience of AIX system administration.
- 3+ years experience with UNIX server tuning, optimization and capacity planning.
- Able to produce technical documentation and network architecture diagrams.
- Willing to write detailed documentation and adhere to corporate standards/change management policies.
- Able to plan and manage complex projects.
- Ability to work on a team or independently in a fast paced dynamic environment.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Professional certifications (e.g. AIX/TSM/Solaris) are a plus.
