Description
? Technical Support and System Administration: Act as primary contact for Staff Technical Support. This includes overall system administration and backup of all servers and workstations. Provide technical support as needed to company staff on all computer related problems, as well as on Internet and online technologies. This includes timely response to user problems, troubleshooting, and cor??rective intervention when needed. Support in the creation and maintenance of staff presentation materials. Help maintain and support database-driven intranet applications, such as . Oversee and enforce technology policies and ensure software and operating systems are current and up to date.
? Web Site & Web Broadcasting Maintenance: Under the supervision of the Technology Manger, support and maintain all technical aspects of the firm?s web site, including streaming video feeds. Oversee all updates by staff and volunteers to content. Monitor interactions between design team, program, and outreach staff to ensure content, graphic, and video assets are prepared in a consistent and technologically appropriate manner. Stay up to date with current developments with Joomla!, the CMS on which the site is built, online advocacy tools, and online video/media technology (i.e. streaming, P2P, podcasting).
? Training: As needed, develop and provide technical training to WITNESS staff in the use of Microsoft Office, Filemaker Pro as well as online applications such as . Train firm staff and volunteers on the proper use of the website content management system and online advocacy tools.
? Technology Inventory Control and Security: After an initial inventory audit, organize and maintain an inventory of Technology related assets including desktop and notebook computers, monitors, projectors, and associated peripherals. Work with Archive and Editing staff to develop an accurate inventory of Video related Technology. Manage technology vendor relationships.
? Technical Documentation: Write accurate and comprehensive documentation for technical processes related to System Administration, User Tech Support, and relevant desktop and web-based applications.

Requirements:
? At least 2 years experience administering a mixed network of Macintosh and Microsoft Windows computers
? Working knowledge of PC and laptop hardware, software, installation and troubleshooting techniques
? Expertise using and supporting Microsoft Office applications for both Macintosh and Windows
? Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy server technologies
? Experience with
? Experience with Filemaker Pro
? Experience with Symantec Backup Exec
? Programming or scripting skills (VB, PHP, .NET/ASP, Java, C)
? Experience with establishing and maintaining network security policies and procedures
? Understanding of basic network hardware, NICs, routers, switches, hubs, WAPs, firewalls
? Excellent organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
? Excellent problem solving abilities, ability to work under pressure
? Excellent multi-tasking skills able to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction
