IT Support - Terp Service

Specifics:

The start date would be ASAP for training and would involve working at Byrd Stadium for home football games from September through November, and Comcast Center for home men's and women's basketball games from October through February. The remainder of the season would be to support the spring sports of lacrosse, softball, etc.

Once the individual is trained, the department is willing to make this position 75% to 100%. The department is looking for a mechanically inclined individual, preferably A+ certified. There would be some physical work involved in moving equipment for repair (would not exceed 20 lbs. per device). The person should be willing to work flexible hours around athletic events, both leading up to and during events. Individual would be responsible for installing and testing POS equipment including cash drawers, printers and keyboards.

The work hours could be set by the individual except for game days. The first football game is at noon, September 10th. So they would be reporting to work at 10 AM. If it is a night game starting at 6 p.m., the individual would report to work at 4 p.m. If there are no games scheduled that week, the department would probably want them to work with their in-house staff, usually Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

During game times the individual working hours would start 2 hours before the start time through halftime, usually about 6 hours. After the season gets started, the hours could drop to about 20 hours a week just doing equipment maintenance during Sept. /Oct. In early October they would be doing the same thing in the Comcast Center getting ready for basketball season. The equipment is newer; therefore, there are fewer issues that need to be resolved. This would involve about 20 hours a week just working the men's and women's basketball games. After that hours would be based on the hours they want to work and if they are capable of doing other things.

Other details would be discussed during the interview process with the individual.
