Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information technology systems operations. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Working knowledge of Dell, Compaq, HP, IBM and other standard products (e.g. peripherals, printers, desktops, laptops), warranty and contract service level agreements, warranty processing for supported products, parts management systems, service management process, and diagnostic utilities. Windows XP, NT 4.0 (server and workstation), and Win 2000 (server and workstation). Network connectivity through NICs, cabling, connectors; including Cisco, or compliant, routers, switches, hubs, repeaters, MS NT, TCP/IP, NetBeui, FTP, IIS. Setup, configure and troubleshoot NT, Intel-based servers. Knowledge of telecommunications systems/software with ability to install and configure IEEE 802 compliant wireless antennas and receivers. Responsibilities:* Analyzes and resolves desktop, portable, and peripheral hardware problems using documentation and computer knowledge. Duties include: hardware remedial maintenance, preventive maintenance, installation and moves of desktop equipment and related devices. Install and troubleshoot GE core load and other applications as required and authorized by IT.
