Immediate need for it telecommunications specialist seeking growth potential, excellent benefits and a challenging opportunity. Position performs technical, administrative and complex work in the programming of the intricate features of the telecommunications switching system. Work involves considerable internal contacts and difficult non-routine tasks. Work requires judgment and initiative. This position performs a variety of technical work in the installation, de-installation, and maintenance. Duties performed in a highly customer oriented organization, where the exercise of excellent customer service and teamwork is required. Operating, monitoring, and servicing multiple communications devices involving both voice and data networks. Diagnose and test voice and network infrastructure including but not limited to power, hubs, cabling, modems, multiplexers, controllers, and terminal.
1. Programs new installations, adds, moves, and changes to telephones.
2. Analyzes, diagnoses and solves problems with telephone sets.
3. Responds to HELP line questions.
4. Responds to questions from users regarding telephone features.
5. Maintains cable and inventory records
6. Installs telecommunication products
7. Processes work orders for service changes.
8. Track and report sick and vacation usage on behalf of employees as directed by HR manager
9. Installation, preventive maintenance, equipment upgrade and modification activities of telephone equipment.
10. Installs, diagnoses and replaces voice and data communication equipment or cabling.
Knowledge of microcomputer systems and peripherals, including printers, hardware, configurations, software requirements, operating systems, memory management and compatibility requirements.
Knowledge of the operation of local and remote communications terminals, control units, multiplexers and the cabling requirements for such devices.
Knowledge of the functions and features of voice communications equipment and services.
Knowledge of current improvements and developments in microcomputer systems and equipment.
Some knowledge of methods, tools, equipment and materials used in microcomputer equipment testing, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to climb, bend, stoop, walk and stand for long periods of time before rest period is available.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
