Description
The Developer II will be responsible for:


Collaborating with IT Business Analysts, Systems Architect, and Product Manager on the definition of requirements and the design of applications.

Employ programming and design techniques that ensure adherence to software development standards, performance efficiency, reliable and easily maintainable code, and self-documenting programs.

Providing timely and effective response and follow-through in the resolution of production issues.

Reporting status against plans in a timely and accurate manner.

Creating appropriate test plans for unit testing and supports system and user acceptance testing.

Adhering to company policy relative to technical guidelines and change management processes.

Transfer technical knowledge to other associates using communications and documentation skills.

Preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

Designing, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains programs.

Perform peer code reviews.

Requirements
Skills and abilities required for Developer II include:


BS degree in Computer Science (or related technical degree) OR comparable programming experience.

2-5 years experience with HTML, DHTML via AJAX and/or JavaScript, and 4GL.

2-5 years experience in Java using one or more of the following web technologies - JSP, JSF (Java Server Faces)

4GL: Develop and maintain projects using 4GL on Unix and Linux environments.

Java: Develop and maintain projects using J2EE (JSP, EJB, JMS, XML, AJAX, JFS)and web-based technologies.

Experience working in a team environment using one of the following SCM systems - Subversion, CVS

Experience with the following would be considered a plus: Development in an Eclipse environment, ASP (Active Server Pages), Coverting ASP applications to a JSP or JSF application, Developing JSR 168 portlets.
