Description
As a member of the Divisional Telecom team, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the development of business systems and self-service applications such as IVR and web portals. Work spans all aspects of the project life-cycle: Requirements gathering and identifying customer needs, designing/architecting, coding, and unit/system testing for IVR, predictive dialer and web applications. The role also includes monitoring, maintenance and day to day operations of the systems and applications. Projects will range from minor modifications to creation of new applications based on evolving business needs and may include touch-tone and speech applications.

Create a variety of self-service programs and applications to meet the needs of internal company departments and users. Define application scope and requirements through inquiries with business owners. Conduct and participate in Needs Analysis sessions with customers. (10%)

Analyze, code, test, implement and maintain new/enhancements to applications and programs. Ensure that applications and programs meet all requirements as required by requestor. (60%)

Provides support to end-users by troubleshooting and repairing application and system problems in a timely manner. Primary point of contact for emergency restoration of assigned systems. Makes repairs and implements established escalation and notification procedures as required. Is On call as needed to support SLA. (10%)

Maintain databases and documentation on all equipment and performs system back-ups on a routine basis. (5%)

Maintains logs and records of pertinent activities. Uses available best practice tools to maximize application quality. (5%)

Provide utilization and capacity reports as required. (5%)

Keeps skill levels up to date and current with changing technologies and tools. Read industry publications and Internet sites to keep up to date on trends and opportunities. Perform other related duties as required. (5%)

> Four-year degree - College/university graduate or has equivalency of work experience with data and telecommunications applications.

Five or more years of experience in area of work

Formal training on Avaya Designer or other IVR development application

Experience:

Strong technical skills in telephony, TDM and IP networks, database integration, open and proprietary IVR development environments and techniques, and touchtone and speech user interfaces and development techniques as well as web applications.

Strong written communication skills for correspondence and proposals.

Five years experience in IVR and/or web application development.

Knowledge and experience with Avaya Designer or other Avaya tool sets.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with and exposure to Perl, C, HTML, JavaScript, Shell Scripts, SQL, ASP, Visual Basic and .NET.

Experience with UNIX, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
