Description
Computer Aid, Inc. (CAI), an information technology consulting firm specializing in application development and managed maintenance support services for Fortune 1000 companies has an immediate need for 2 Sr. Application Developers with Plumtree portal development to work as part of a CAI team on a long term project engagement in Washington, DC. This is a full time position.

Ideal candidate will work as part of a team developing and designing Internet and Intranet application systems.

Job requirements will include but are not limited to:
. Extensive, hands-on experience with a Portal technology platform, preferably Plumtree's Corporate Portal, including system and portlet architecture, design, and standards. In depth understanding of the Portal construct including the distributed architectural design principles inherent in the Portal environment.
. Extensive experience with Microsoft ASP and Transact SQL, and recent work with ASP.NET/ADO.NET, in creating large, complex, production-quality Web/ e-commerce applications for internal and external clients. This expertise should pertain to the entire software lifecycle.
. In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft IIS Web server environment, application scalability and performance, and interaction with discreet application and data components
. Experience working with Collaboration platform solutions, such as eRoom or Plumtree's Collaboration server
. Solid understanding of the Microsoft.NET framework including security and performance.
. Ideally, candidate will possess experience with Web server and Portal support in a production environment.
. Demonstrates skill in gathering, analyzing, documenting, and prioritizing user requirements.
. Guides and assists less-senior Application Developers and trains them on advanced techniques.
. Responsible for preparing reports for management that review program and system capabilities and limitations.
. Analyzes and designs complex business systems, software products, programs and modules. Tests and reviews work of other Application Developers.
. Ability to write and communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, end users and client management.
. Demonstrates skill in problem-definition, problem-solving, and design and implementation of information management systems to address underlying business issues.
. Demonstrates ability to prepare project initiation documents, including feasibility studies, project proposals, and project budgets and communication/marketing plans.
. Experience in using Microsoft Project, Visio, and/or process-modeling tools.

Qualified applicants must have at least a Bachelor's degree and experience with portal development (specifically Plumtree) and .NET development experience (practical, hands-on experience with .NET NOT just training). At least 6 years development experience is also required.
