Location: NY/NJ Metro Region, parts of Connecticut

Our Client is looking to fill a key, highly visible position: Implementation Engineer.
This person will be responsible for analyzing customer needs and requirements for
real-time data processing systems, and helping customers create high performance,
highly scalable applications using their product.

Responsibilities:
Candidate will function as a product expert to assist customers with detailed needs
analysis and implementation of financial services systems such as ticker plants,
trading applications, and compliance engines.

1. Working closely with the Sales Team:
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of our client's technology and to
clearly articulate this to prospective customers.
Map high-level business problems to our client's technology solutions.
Discuss high-level solution viability and implementation strategies.

3. Develop Proof-of-Concept (PoC) implementations for prospective customers.
Meet with customers and prospects to determine project requirements and
limitations.
Assess current environments including connectivity/integration needs.
Evaluate project scope to determine feasibility and resource requirements.
Perform design and coding projects for POCs.

4. Familiarize customer personnel with product concepts, features, and
functionality.

5. Respond to customer questions and/or problems in a timely fashion.

6. Capture and communicate relevant market and customer feedback to provide
input to our strategy and product development process.

7. Travel to customer locations is expected to range from 50-70%, initially in the
mid-Atlantic and New England regions.

Required Experience:
M.S. preferred with strong academic credentials in computer science,
engineering or related field.
10 years experience as a developer of enterprise or systems level software.
5-7 years Sales Engineering experience, preferably in both a large Systems
Integrator and start-up environment.
Demonstrated successful software sales
Experience in related areas such as real-time systems or with applications such
as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft is a plus.
Experience selling into financial services data processing infrastructure.
Strong analytical and business process skills, and ability to apply them to
technical solutions.
An understanding of the strategic challenges of the financial management
industry is a plus.

Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of Linux, Solaris, and Windows operating systems, including
installation, configuration, system administration, and troubleshooting procedures.
Solid hands-on experience in networking, firewall and system software
configuration.
Application design and programming experience in the following languages:
Java, C++, XML, Perl.
Knowledgeable of relational databases (Oracle, SQLServer, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including talent in
presenting complex concepts, relating to customers, listening, and negotiating.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
Ability to interface with senior-level executives and effectively respond to
technical questions.
A history of proactive communication and sharing among the technical
community internally as well as externally.df-tc
