Implementation Systems Engineer

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina

Position Summary

DTI is currently recruiting for the position of Implementation Engineer. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide project implementation services for DTI*s Content Management solutions. Key responsibilities include software installation and configuration, technical consultation, pre-installation testing and development, site documentation, and administrative training. This is a very dynamic position with responsibilities in virtually every facet of the solution delivery process and the engineer should exemplify a *best practices* approach in all project responsibilities. Additionally, Implementation Engineers are tasked with post project support activities. It is not uncommon for support side responsibilities for this position to comprise 20% * 25% of an engineer*s normal work week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Solution Delivery:

* Installation, customization and maintenance of the operating systems, hardware and software systems to support the solutions that we deliver.
* Installation and configuration of Oracle I/PM, EMC Documentum ApplicationXtender, Kofax Ascent and other content management and document capture solutions.
* Testing applications for data integrity, performance, and usability.
* Documenting completed application development, installation, and configuration work for the client.
* Maintaining technical specifications throughout implementation and development process
* Reviewing and understanding all tasks of the assigned Statement of Work prior to services delivery.
* Complying with DTI SOP*s and processes for scheduling and performing all activities.
* Communicating status of engagement to customer, DTI*s Services management, and DTI*s solution delivery team leader as appropriate during engagement.
* Reporting all engagement time and expenses in a timely manner.


Customer Support:

* Perform systematic root cause analysis and issue remediation.
* Provide timely and complete feedback to the customer regarding issue status, on-going efforts, and applied remedies.
* Effectively manage support priorities and reources.


Technical Excellence:

* Holding or working towards required industry certifications (e.g. Oracle IPM, Documentum AX, Kofax Ascent, Microsoft MCSA/MCSA, etc.).
* Understanding the business issues and revenue motives that are driving client technologies.


Professionalism and Integrity:

* Communicating openly, honestly, and constructively.
* Treating all employees with dignity, respect, and courtesy.
* Taking responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust, and respect concerns.
* Asking for information needed to perform job responsibilities.
* Performing other duties and projects as needed to support the department


Internal Support:

* Help manage and maintain DTI*s VMware GSX lab development environment.
* Help manage and maintain DTI*s internal servers and business applications (MAS 90, Exchange 2003, ConnectWise PSA).
* Provide occasional application and desktop support for DTI employees.
* Provide knowledge transfer / mentoring to other engineering staff.


Knowledge and Skills

* Minimum 4-7 years professional experience in the information systems/technology domain.
* Bachelor's Degree (Technical orientation preferred).
* MCSA/MCSE certification or marked progress towards completion preferred
* Strong Microsoft systems experience (demonstrable Windows 2000, XP, and 2003 experience including Active Directory).
* Microsoft SQL 2000/2005 Server configuration and support experience. Knowledge of using stored procedures, creating query update scripts, etc. required.
* IIS configuration experience.
* Strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and SMTP knowledge
* Server Hardware configuration, installation, and maintenance experience.
* Passion for high-availability, automation, and performance.
* Disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing
* Experience as a member of a technical project team with a solid understanding of the solution delivery life cycle.
* Ability to work with VISIO to create process and network/system topology diagrams.
* Strong problem solving and root cause analysis.
* Ability to maintain focus and follow through on critical assignments as established by the professional services project manager.
* Sustained leadership and technical contribution are required.
* Good process management, writing, interpersonal engineering skills.
* Detail-orientation, diligence and persistence.
* Proven ability to work across disparate groups.
