blueStone has been retained by a leading Financial Services company to assist in their search for an Incident Response Handler. This is a full time opportunity located in Detroit, MI.





Job Description



The Computer Security Incident Response (CSIRT) team is responsible for managing the detection and reporting of information security incidents supporting all Business Units. The team coordinates with the Business Units, Legal, Corporate Security, Performing Suppliers, and ITG to gather incident details, assess risk and assist with remediation.

This candidate will require experience in all phases of incident response including planning, alert, triage, response, recovery, and maintenance. The candidate must be familiar with communication technologies and protocols.



Process development using ITIL foundations is a must. The candidate that fulfills this role will be expected to have process documentation experience and excellent client/supplier relationship experience.



Key Accountabilities / Requirements



Develop and validate incident response plans to address likely threats

Monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events using security event management tools.

Performing technical analysis and correlation of security data from internal and external servers, networking devices (Windows, UNIX, Linux, IOS) and security devices (IDS, SIMS, firewalls, hosts).

Support the daily coordination and remediation of information security related incidents with senior management, performing suppliers, and business units

Play a key role in the continuous review of information security threats and consequences and contribute business process changes with the team

Compile and validate statistical data for management reporting

Highlight issues related to data loss and business risk

Participate in various projects

Researching, developing and maintaining proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer and network vulnerabilities and exploits.



Key knowledge/skills/abilities



Knowledge of Information Security including CISSP certification

SANS GCIH certification desired

Demonstrated solid understanding of networking, architectures and security elements to include firewalls, intrusion detection systems, routers and proxies

Strong knowledge of computer vulnerabilities and exploits

Strong project management skills

Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and maintain confidentiality

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of data networking or security experience (preference in Financial Services, Information Security or IT Security)

Ability to multi-task with attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills - team player

Flexible and self-motivator

Strong verbal and written communications skills across all levels of organization
