Description
A well-known, local company is seeking three (3) Information Technology Developers for their large Oracle Enterprise Data Warehouse. These developers will be responsible for utilizing Informatica in developing extraction, transformation, and load (ETL), programs, scripts and schedules for the batch and client/server operations.

This Data Warehouse supports financial-based subject areas that capture data from millions of customers. There are multiple data source systems that populate this Data Warehouse, coming from other client/server, mainframe, and PC-based applications.

This position will include some (limited) mentoring of Informatica to the ETL production support group. The team consists of business analysts, data modeler, ETL developers, DBA, and Business Intelligence personnel who are responsible for batch cycles and program maintenance of the data warehouse and a data mart. The position will also be responsible for developing and overseeing the Informatica programming standards and guidelines.

For this role, you must have 3+ years of technical Informatica experience built upon a hands-on application background. The You must have full life cycle development experience and able to balance priorities in a dynamic environment. You must have experience in a UNIX (Sun, AIX) operating system using Oracle v8x; writing scripts for the movement and archival of UNIX files (Perl, Korn); maestro batch schedulers and change management tools. The position involves a mix of administrative/team duties as well as some technical architect/design participation.

The position will also be responsible for managing and administrating the Informatica Metadata component for the project team. This includes extracting and populating MetaData from third party sources such as ERwin, MS Excel, and OLAP products. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret logical and physical data models.

This Data Warehouse role needs a candidate with technical expertise utilizing ETL development methodology, Data Architecture, Kimball methodology skills, Project Management skills, Oracle and Unix development skills. Part of their role will be to foster communication among the team in cross-training them to use Informatica. You will have the opportunity to become an expert using Informatica.

Minimum:
  • 7+ years Information Technology experience
  • 4+ years experience with data warehouse programming
  • 2+ years Informatica PowerCenter / PowerMart development experience
  • Experience building source/target extracts, data source programs

    Required:
  • 5+ years in a client/server development environment
  • 5+ Oracle v9x PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, Stored Procedures development
  • Conceptual, logical, data modeling and database design
  • Experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin
  • Ability to troubleshoot and document corrective actions

    Desired:
  • Experience with various Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, MicroStrategies a Big Plus!
  • Experience in a mainframe JCL, MVS Cobol, Cobol II, Microfocus Cobol
  • Database administration experience with Oracle (a plus)
  • Experience using client/server batch schedulers (preferably Maestro)
  • Open to Production Support role (1 week on call / month), able to dial in remotely
  • Quality Assurance (unit testing, system migrations)
