Information Management Associate needed to work with a highly energetic and dynamic team supporting medium to large transaction processing systems for Affiliated Computer Systems, Inc. (ACS) customers.This position requires a detail oriented individual who will be responsible for the timely processing of all production processes, system monitoring, and job support while ensuring timely delivery of production data to meet our service level agreements.
While moderate knowledge of each is required, we are also looking for individuals who excel in one or more of the following three categories:


Linux – able to use advanced commands for troubleshooting, and able to write and edit scripts including bash.
Database – understands and is able to write advanced queries to an Oracle database for troubleshooting.
Programming – understands fundamental programming concepts, and is capable of creating programs to solve complex problems using an OOPL.

Responsibilities:


Responsible for identifying problems as they occur, work with level 2 support personnel to ensure proper steps are taken to resolve those problems. Initiates corrective action under direction of senior operator or shift supervisor and within the scope of knowledge and informs manager of problems.
Responsible for and sign off of all assigned production jobs and health checks as defined by the Manager of Customer Engineering.
Maintain a record or log as required as part of the shift change process.
Must be able to work in a 24x7 (weekend and/or shift rotation) schedule.
Must have ability to work in a multi-system and multi-platform environment.
Must ensure timely and accurate delivery of the scheduled daily and monthly production report and batch files.
Work with data center staff to monitor production systems.
Responsible for following procedures for processing of batch files, troubleshooting and reporting errors.
Ensures that proper notification and escalation procedures on missed checkpoints or other batch/online processing delays are being followed
Develops scheduling resolution/analysis skills and software knowledge
Trains and monitors performance of assigned staff and coordinates related on-site activities
Provides functional or task leadership
Coordinates special projects and system upgrades
Briefs clients and/or management on the status of resolution efforts
Serves as a technical advisor to users with complex systems issues by resolving or conferring with technical personnel
Recommends system or process improvements, including procedures, training, and enhanced documentation

Experience Required:


Working knowledge of Linux, HP, Sun Solaris, and Windows server environments and network technology.
Knowledge of common Unix/Linux/Windows commands.
Knowledge of basic TCP/IP networking concepts.
Some prior database experience with a relational database (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server)
Prior experience in a Data Center Environment preferred.
Ability to utilize computer operating systems utilities.
Strong communication, customer service, organizational skills, and strong troubleshooting skills are a must.
Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work weekends, and or various shift rotations as required.
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Education:
Position requires a minimum of two year technical college degree or 6 to12 months experience in computer operations position.

Experience/Skills
