Description
Information Security (IS) involves an increasingly broad and pervasive set of issues including intrusion detection and information warfare, cryptography, computer crime and privacy issues, security evaluation of internally and externally developed and hosted systems, secure e-commerce, and network security. This position is part of a team focused on information security for GMAC globally.

<b>Key responsibilities include:</b>
· Develop global security and control policies that define high-level principles around the creation and usage of information technology, computer applications, and infrastructure
· Contribute to the strategic direction of information security for GMAC and its subsidiaries and affiliates
·Create and revise information security standards, procedures, and processes that support the GMAC Information Security Policy & Standards (ISP&S)
·Work with GMAC webmasters to publish global Information Security requirements
·Communicate changes to Information Security policy across the enterprise
·Participate in policy review and policy deviation meetings
·Coordinate training development and implementation on information security
·Consult with business and ITG personnel to clarify Information Security requirements
·Participate in Company projects requiring Information Security participationdf-tc


Experience/Skills
<b>Position Qualifications:</b>
· Knowledge of the role security policy plays within the organization
· Strong understanding of security practices and risk management principles
· Strong writing skills
· Strong Interpersonal Skills
· Understanding of policy and how it governs standards, baselines, procedures and guidelines
· Basic understanding of security infrastructure and key security challenges
· Technical proficiency in multiple information technologies.

<b>Other Information:</b>
· Professional security or auditing certifications a plus: CISSP, CISA, GIAC, SSCP, CIPP, CIA. Security administration or IT Audit experience a plus

<b>Competency or Skills To Be Gained:</b>
· Deep knowledge of the role Information Security Policy plays within the organization
· Broad view of the GMAC Organization through the team’s global scope
· Increased ability to evaluate risks of conflicting/complementary solutions
