John Deere Corporate Office is seeking an Infrastructure Analyst to be responsible for the planning and implementation of changes to the information technology infrastructure. In this position, you will:

Monitor mainframe and open system capacity & performance to detect problems or trigger upgrades/adjustments in support of business needs.
Develop skills & procedures for monitoring system & performance parameters for new workloads and improvements for existing workloads.
Work as a catalyst to drive processor & subsystem configuration choices.
Assist and facilitates the implementation of new systems.
Provide technical tuning efforts for mainframe operating systems & mainframe subsystems including Batch, TSO, DB2 & WAS, focusing on resource usage including CPU cycles & memory usage but may be driven by metrics to monitor elapsed (response) times & cost versus the value of the IT function being delivered to the business partner.
Follows-up on problems by enhancing procedures & working with suppliers as needed. Performs infrastructure problem analysis and helps to enhance problem detection methods.
Provide support for monitoring tools and expertise in the use of these monitoring tools to support detection & resolution of cost & elapsed time issues.
Provide and support processes to supply charge data for input to IS Accounting chargeback for mainframe WAS, Batch, TSO, DB2, CICS, IMS & SAP environments.
Work with suppliers to diagnose problems.
Research emerging system architectures/features & their possible application to the business.


Education

4 year degree in an Information Technology discipline or 5+ years of infrastructure support or tuning experience is required.



Required Skills and Experience

Programming experience.
Ability to work on multiple tasks and technologies.
Time Management and organization skills.
Ability to work in a high performance work team



Desired Skills and Experience

Experience programming in multiple languages (Java, C, C++, etc.)
Knowledge of SAS.
Knowledge of JCL.
