Description
Our client is seeking a manager to oversee the hardware and operations support of their IT department, including Help Desk, LAN/WAN and Telecom areas. The ideal candidate will have proven management and leadership experience in such a role while still being very hands on. This position will handle everything from supervision of day to day IT operations to leading a staff of up to 15 technicians while also handling research, purchases, desktop strategy, hiring, and performance reviews. 

This is a Cisco/HP/Avaya environment. 

Keys for this position:
  • Prior hands on experience and management in Cisco/HP/Help Desk environment required, any certifications a plus
  • Experience with Standardization (procedures, Disaster Recovery)
  • Experience with Storage (SAN) and Infrastructure management
  • Experience managing a Help Desk Center (call volume, software, etc)
  • Experience developing/researching Resources and knowing the limits of the technology and enhancing technology where necessary

This Manager will report to the Director of I.S. and will oversee the work of technical staff in managing the help desk, as well as managing networks, Servers, and protocols (LAN/WAN). Designating staff assignments and project initiatives will also be involved.  

Other job activities include: 
  • Responsible for technical and network policy, procedure, and documentation
  • Responsible for inventory and software and enhancements
  • Setup weekend rotational on-call schedule 
  • Training and development of new and existing staff members
