Description
Duties and Essential Functions: Jet engine manufacturer seeks technicians that are able to work in a dynamic, high visibility environments. They should be able to react quickly to resolve problems and be flexible regarding engineering or supervision direction. Technicians will be responsible for the application, routing, patching, troubleshooting and repair of various instrumentation sensors, including but not limited to: air, metal and immersion thermocouples, pressure sensors, accelerometers, flow meters, optical probes, laser equipment, proximity probes and strain gages. Technicians will also be responsible for the setup and operation of various measurement and recording systems used for turbine jet engine test and design validation. These systems could include but are not limited to:* FM multiplexed recording systems and signal conditioning equipment used to acquire stress and vibration data.* Pyrometry systems and optical measurement systems used to measure blade tip clearance, blade stresses, and blade temperature.* PID Control Loops used to operate hydro mechanical valves and system.* Performance measurement and facility control systems, and signal conditioning equipment used to monitor engine performances and health data.US Citizen Required Skills: Candidates should have a strong background in electronics and experience with digital and structural data acquisition systems. Experience with tack welding on various nickel and titanium alloy materials a plus.. Experience with laser and optical equipment a plus. Qualifications should include at least an Associate Degree in a related field plus 3 to 5 years of related experience, or equivalent.
