Internet Monitor Analyst

This position will setup & Administer a monitoring solution for Server Hardware, Critical Applications & eventually tie in with Network Monitoring, document & support the monitoring application(s) on a daily basis as a core responsibility, and participate in routine maintenance responsibilities, such as backups & systems monitoring, in conjunction with the rest of the operations group. Will participate in day to day Server & infrastructure troubleshooting with the rest of the Server operations team, this is measured by succesfully closed helpdesk tickets. Participate in implementing system security patches and on-call rotation with the rest of the team.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SOME WEEKENDS.

The ideal candidate must have a four-year degree in Computer Sciences or related field, and 3-5 years experience installing, configuring and administration of IT Monitoring products such as =C3=A2??OpenView Operations=C3=A2?=C2=9D and =C3=A2??Network Node Manager.=C3=A2?=C2=9D Basic knowledge of databases including SQL and Oracle. Understanding of firewall, NAT and clustering solutions. Understanding of Routing protocols, SNMP, TCP/IP and Cisco networking equipment. UNIX and Windows SA experience expected. UNIX shell scripting experience, sqlplus, vbs, batch or perl a plus. Must have strong communication skills and the requisite patience to interface with application programming/QA staff. The ability and desire to research, recommend and implement advanced OpenView techniques and strategies. MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO BE ON CALL and occasionally provide escalated support outside of normal working hours. Must be a self-starter who shows initiative, possess strong leadership skills, and has excellent time management skills. Must have strong trouble shooting skills, and be customer, process and results oriented. Must be well organized, and extremely detail oriented. Candidate must be flexible and have the ability to adapt quickly as external environment and organizational changes occur.
