We are currently searching for an Internet Protocol (IP) Architect who is a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certifed Network Professional), and/or a CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) for a direct hire position with a client here in the Anniston area of Greater Birmingham.

All candidates must successfully pass a drug sreen prior to starting work for our client.

This position has a relocation allowance. Exact amount varies per relocation situation.

Responsibilities:
* Design, testing, deployment and technical support of Ethernet services and platforms

* Manage vendor interface for product evaluation and testing, installation standards, acceptance testing and trouble resolution

* Introduction of new equipment including documentation of design, operations and management of the equipment and associated services

* Supports escalations of issue from network and field operations groups that cannot be resolved at that level

* Involved in ongoing support of the IP network and related equipment (Routing, ATM, Frame Relay, etc.)

* IP routing, MPLS, interface configurations, maintenance support and trouble resolution

Requirements:
* 4 year degree (BA, BS), preferably in a related technical field

2 years of experience in the following areas:

* Ethernet switching and VLANs

* Cisco Routers and Switches

* Network Management techniques (SNMP)

* Knowledge of Ethernet specifications and standards

* Experience with IP Protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc.), IP Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.), VPNs, DNS/DHCP/WINS

* Knowledge and/or experience with fiber optic installations and theory

* Knowledge of Ethernet WAN/LAN/MAN techniques

* Familiar with Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) specifications

* Familiar with Frame Relay, ATM, T1, T3, etc. technologies

* PC proficient including Microsoft Office Suite applications and Visio

* Knowledgeable of basic troubleshooting techniques

* Occasional travel and overnight stays for work related projects
