TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience:
5 Years + application development and leadership

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Unit/System/Integration Testing
Configuration Management / Release Management

Example technologies:
Web developer - HTML, JavaScript, Perl, Coldfusion, XML, ActiveX, ASP
Database developer - PL/SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, ODBC/JDBC
Java Developer - J2EE, EJB, Jbuilder, JSM
Usability Specialist - HCI, Photoshop, Fireworks, Flash, Shockwave
Product Specialist - Documentum, Peoplesoft, Informatica, BusinessObjects
Application Services - BEA WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, IIS

Business Skills & Knowledge:
Pharmaceutical Industry Experience
Basic validation concepts/software quality
May require specific knowledge/experience with commercial s/w used in PGRDi

Minimum Requirements:
2 years of Swing & AWT development experience.
5 years of software development experience, with a minimum of 4 years of Java programming
experience.
3 years of experience developing in a J2EE environment. WebLogic preferred, Tomcat, JBoss, or WebSphere acceptable.
2 years Swing, AWT, EJB, SQL, JUnit, Ant and JDBC development.
2 years developing or converting web based applications using Servlets, HTML and JavaScript. Focus on converting to Swing.

A solid understanding of Object-Oriented design principles, MVC design pattern, SQL/Oracle 9i, N-Tier applications and incorporating unit testing with code design.
Past experience working with multi-threaded applications in a production environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and with minimum handholding, as well as delivering results as part of a team are absolutely essential.
Past experience at delivering results under aggressive schedules is required.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB
Analyzes specifications, designs logic, writes code, customizes products, tests, debugs, and documents software.
Is familiar with the software development lifecycle and configuration management. Consults with other developers to ensure compatibility with other modules and applications.
Consults with users and stakeholders to ensure that requirements are met. Coordinates with other technical teams. Enforces change management policies.
Keeps informed and trained in advances in their specific field.

The successful candidate will work as part of an existing team to develop a high-profile J2EE application to assist in the Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Discovery Process.
