JAVA SOFTWARE ENGINEER
(Systems Analyst / Programmer IV)
Hiring Range: $75,074.00 - $88,321.00 Annually

TriMet, the progressive public transit agency serving the Portland, Oregon metro area, has the following opening in support of web and spatial technologies within the Information Technology Department:

Java Software Engineer with experience in geospatial web application development. Immediate tasks include mobile and web-based application development. May also assist with the development and maintenance of spatial databases. TriMet's spatial/web environment includes GeoServer, OpenLayers, PostGIS, Oracle, Unix/Linux, and Tomcat.

Qualified applicants will have the following background:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with an Information Technology or Information Management concentration.

Minimum of six years of information technology processing experience, four of which must have been in a systems analyst or equivalent position.

Additional experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

Minimum of four years experience with Java is required.

Experience with the following is highly desirable: AJAX/Java Script, Unix/Linux Environments, SQL, relational databases including Oracle

Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
