SHORT DESCRIPTION:

This position is on the Development team in the Product Technologies department and reports to the Manager of Development. The Development team is responsible for the development of enhancements to existing applications, as well as development of new applications which support internal and external business processes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Develop code from detailed specifications.
Analyze requirements, produce designs for product enhancements and new development
Work independently on projects.
Provide accurate status of projects
Carry a Tier-2 support pager on an 8-10 week rotation
Support, maintenance, and development of JAVA Web based and stand-alone applications
Participation on project teams


QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
JAVA, J2EE (EJB, JSP, Servlets, JDBC)
JBoss 4.2 or greater
Struts 2
AJAX
Object Oriented Analysis & Design
Web technologies (Velocity, JavaScript, HTML, XML)
SQL, ORACLE, UNIX, Windows
Shell Scripting
3-tier Client/Sever Architecture
Familiarity with the Rational Suite (ClearCase, ClearQuest)
Familiarity with PL/SQL is a plus


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

3 - 4 years work experience in a J2EE development/maintenance environment.
Bachelors degree Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
Java Certifications a plus

Good oral/verbal communication skills a must

Demonstrated knowledge/experience in application support/troubleshooting
Demonstrated knowledge of applicable technologies
