Description
RemxIT has a Bethesda based client looking to fill it 2mo contracxt asap

Location: Bethesda, MD
Duration: 2mo

1) Web Application Developer (~60%)

Participate in full system life cycle development activities

Provide customer support to application users

Initiate working sessions, resolve issues, and provide advice on system vision/capabilities

Specify and implement Java/XML/XSL software components and interfaces

Formulate and execute system test plans

Participate in CMM Level 2 meetings

Conduct demonstrations on both a periodic and ad hoc basis

Document requirements



2) Special Request activities (~20%)

Provide engagement data request activities (customized data request, summary reports, etc.)

Provide engagement research activities

Provide engagement prototype development activities (requirements, prototypes, etc.)



3) Other Ad Hoc activities (~20%).

Mentor and provide leadership to junior member of the team

Participate in improving the software development processes used on the engagement

Enhance the CR Tracking Database and/or our engagement procedures

Participate in client meeting and demonstrations

Maintain and update project documentation

Participate in other non-NCI billable and/or non-billable project activities

***Required Elements:

Excellent skills in web programming (Java, JSP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Apache/Tomcat)

J2EE technologies - Spring, Struts/Tiles, Hibernate, JSTL, JBoss

SQL (Structured Query Language) Oracle PL/SQL, Relational database design (Intermediate level or above)

Excellent communication and customer support skills (client satisfaction focused)

Self-motivated individual that works well in a team environment, has the ability to learn quickly, and can effectively handle multiple task assignments

Familiarity with working in a UNIX environment

Familiarity with CVS (Concurrent Versions System)

Basic Unix/Linux server administration monitoring memory and disk space usage

Working experience with use cases

***Desired Elements:

Knowledge of Postscript and Adobe Acrobat

Knowledge of ASP, Visual Basic and MS Access

Oracle application performance tuning

Experience with DB tools like TOAD and/or SQL Loader

CVS Server Administration

Apache ANT and Anthill

Shell scripts and/or Perl

Awstats (or similar web statistics tools)

Knowledge of NIH's grants process and NIHs IMPAC II database

Software configuration management

Skills Required:

- Write reports in postscript and utilize Acrobat to generate pdf files.

- Convert current two-tier architecture (Tomcat) to three-tier architecture utilizing JBoss as the application server.

- Utilize JMS to send email

- Large scale system experience

- Sun Solaris 9, 10

- Oracle 9i with text searching

- Apache/Tomcat/JBoss (clustering experience desirable)
