Description

For this contract-to-hire position, you will combine and apply your software skills and your knowledge of business integration solutions to participate in projects for this global brokerage firm!


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Coding and unit testing of software solution
  • Defining technical specifications and solution documents
  • Proposing strategy and prepare conceptual design
  • Recommending best practices for successful implementation
  • Defining detailed workflow, data and system processing requirements
  • Consulting with and obtain approval from IT architects
  • Providing user support, technical presentations, and product demonstrations
  • System testing and/or coordinating with the Quality Assurance team

Experience/Skills

  • 8+ years related work experience
  • Proficiency in Java with JDK 1.4.2 (on Linux)
  • Experience with XML and Web Services
  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), J2EE Architecture, and J2EE Application Servers
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Linux
  • Strong experience with web development including JSP, JavaScript using Struts
  • Hands on experience with web service design and development using Eclipse IDE, Axis 1.2.2 or Axis 2.0.0 SOAP stack, etc
  • Experience authoring WSDL files and tracking SOAP packets (e.g., to work out interoperability between Java and .NET)
  • Experience with Java and J2EE design patterns such as DAO, Factory, and Singleton
  • Experience with the design and implementation of a High Availability (HA) environment (including fail-over, loading balancing, backup and recovery)
  • Ability to understand, re-engineer, improve, and implement complex business processes
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to assess relevant facts, identify alternative approaches, and supply recommended solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related field
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Experience with .NET programming is a plus
  • Familiarity with Business Process Management (BPM) technology / BPM development experience is desired (Appian)
  • Exposure to Hibernate, Spring, JUnit and Ant is preferred
