We are currently seeking a Java Developer for a direct-hire opportunity with one of our clients in Durham, NC.

Will be responsible for formulating application solutions to customer needs / problems. This includes the full system life cycle for application solutions from development & delivery via project(s) to ongoing execution & maintenance.

. Responsible for the analysis, development, installation, modification
and support of software applications.
. Conducts programming tasks including, program specifications, program coding, debugging and documentation.
. Conducts proper testing before promoting to production to ensure a quality product.
. Works with appropriate levels of management to provide necessary research for business case and cost justification.
. Interacts well with both internal and external customers. Is adaptable to an erratic schedule.
. Provides production system support outside of normal work schedules
assigned.
. Works with vendors and business partners to support purchased software solutions and interfaces.

The ultimate purpose of this role is to produce automated solutions and services right the first time, every time.

Experience/Skills
Required:

. Bachelor or technical degree and 5 years applications development experience required; including a minimum of 5 years design and development using OO methodologies.
. Excellent analytical and communication skills required.
. Must be self-disciplined, flexible and adaptable.
. Must have prior experience writing applications at the highest technical level; and have the ability to provide technical assistance to others.
. 2+ years design and development in J2EE environment, WebSphere preferred.
. 1+ years JSP/Struts and JSF application.
. 2+ years general web application design/development including
JavaScript/HTML/CSS, XSL/XSLT, and XML.
. 1+ years with EJB interface development.

Desired:

. 3+ years design and development in J2EE environment, WebSphere preferred.
. 1+ years with EJB interface development.
. Some experience SQL, DB2/UDB.
. 2+ years experience with a Source Control Management system, and Serena preferred.
. 1+ years experience with UML methodologies, logging frameworks (LOG4J) and unit testing strategies.
. 1+ years experience with lightweight frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
. 1+ years experience with Service Oriented Architecture.
. 1+ years of Web Services experience.
