Description:
7+ yrs experience in software design and development
4 year degree in Computer Science or equivalent background. Java certifications preferred
5 yrs experience in Java, J2EE frameworks and other related Java technologies such as JSP, XML, etc
Proven experience working with high-complexity, high-availability, layered, enterprise class applications including customization of 3rd party platforms
Proven experience with advanced OO design, design patterns, and capable of working without supervision
Proven experience using Hibernate
Proven experience using Web Services
Proven experience with SQL, and Multi-threaded applications
Proven ability to work in teams of 5-10+ peers, communicate effectively and achieve lasting results. Perform technical leadership roles when requested
Velocity; being the ability to code more diligently and focused at a more rapid pace when necessary
Ability to seek clarification on requirements and document design using industry standard methods such as UML
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain their work clearly, communicate if behind schedule, or if they are stuck and need assistance
Proven experience using test-driven development practices such as the practice of automated unit-testing and associated tools (JUnit/Cruise Control/etc)
Proven experience with a well-defined development methodology (RUP, XP, Waterfall, etc.)
Proven problem solving skills, and ability to identify issues before they become larger
Experience developing and supporting mission-critical enterprise/global applications
Experience working with internal and external partners, and the ability to both provide and receive feedback on technical work performed
Experience writing and consuming web services, as well as working knowledge of database technologies
Ability to propose, practice and influence development standards and best practices is highly preferred
