Description
Robert Half Technology has an immediate need for a long term contractor for their client in Raleigh/Cary, NC.

Candidates should have experience working as a SW engineer/developer working with Java-based systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Software Engineering/Programming:
  • object oriented design
  • Java and database development
  • unit-test and systems integration


REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4+ years of Java experience
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP socket programming
  • Proven object-oriented design skills
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases, JDBC and XML
  • Strong experience with O/R mapping tools and modeling
  • Thorough understanding of multi-threaded design and implementation
  • Successfully integrated open source products into systems


DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Linux administration
  • Working knowledge of tools such as tcpdump and ethereal
  • System monitoring and management
  • Network utilization
  • Web services development (Axis, Spring Web Services, WSDL )
  • Experience with Spring
  • OSGI frameworks (Equinox, Knopplerfish, or Apache Felix)
  • Hibernate or OJB
  • internationalization
  • System Performance and System Security
  • Source code revision control (CVS or Subversion)
