Description
TerraNova Consulting is seeking JAVA developers for our Chicago area end client. They will be tasked to develop or create their reporting framework to handle Ad Hoc report requests.



The ideal resource will have the following skills/experience:

- experienced in Java SE
- experienced in Java EE components (Servlet, JSP, JSTL, EJB).
- experienced in using JDBC, DB2, and SQL to interact with a database.
- experienced in creating complex SQL queries (not just select * from table_name).
- experienced in XML, HTML, Javascript and XSLT.
- experienced in Java to Microsoft Excel and PDF conversions (possibly using POI).
- experienced in implementation of unit test harness (like Junit and Cactus).
- experienced in implementation of AJAX pattern.
- experienced in implementation MVC architecture, Java Design Patterns and OOA/D best practices.
- experienced in Open Source frameworks (Apache Struts, Spring framework, Hibernate, DWR framework).
- experienced in producing design documentation based on requirements and established application architecture - (UML and Rational Rose, XDE or RSA modeling tools).
- experienced in developing on Websphere Studio Application Developer 5.1.x and/or Rational Application Developer 6.x/7.x.
- experienced in using Source Code Management repositories (like MKS, CVS, Sub Version or Rational Clearcase).
- excellent communication and problem solving skills, motivated/self starter and excellent team player.
- ability to work independently and as part of a team to analyze and troubleshoot defects/problems
- proficient in conducting and participating in analysis & (high-level and detailed-level) design session, in addition to development work.



Must be permanent resident, Green Card holder or U.S. Citizen.



Start Date: 8/24 or 8/31

Location: Chicago area

Duration: Contract to hire (must be thinking long-term)
