Description
Software Developer (Web Tier) - 1 developer position
Essential Job Function:
Apply web application programming technologies based on Java, including servlets, jsp's, and java classes - along with HTML and JavaScript, to enhance and modify the web tier of an existing multi-tier enterprise financial application. Interpret written technical specifications to develop enhancements or fix defects.
Learn and adapt to existing architecture, data flow, and coding standards. Bring experience with best design and coding practices to bear on implementations. Suggest design improvements to specifications when needed. Must write and implement thorough unit testing plans.
Requires strong written and verbal communication skills. May also be called upon also to operate in a C++ environment and to interact with Oracle data bases.
Job Responsibilities:
.Interpret technical specifications to implement enhancements and resolve defects
.Suggest optimizations to designs and implementations
.Write detailed technical documentation as needed to document changes.
.Work rapidly within project plan and structured development life cycle process

Experience/Skills
Qualifications:
.5 years or more of Java development experience

.3 years or more of servlet, jsp, HTML, JavaScript, XML experience

.Tomcat experience desired

.BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere development experience desired

.Java-based CORBA experience desired

.Oracle experience desired

.C++ experience desired

.Experience with enterprise financial applications or accounting helpful

.Process, control, and structure oriented
