Description
The Java Programmer/Analyst will work under general direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises and/or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. The Java Programmer/Analyst is expected to design, code, test, debug, and document those programs (Java) and to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. The Java Programmer/Analyst will provide guidance and training to less-experienced programmer/analysts. Develop and document business requirements and detailed requirements. Assist in the development of test scripts and test schedules. Act as a liaison between employer and the client's lines of business.

Essential job functions performed by the Java Programmer Analyst:
- Serve as technical lead for tasks and estimating effort, timelines and skill sets.
- Lead the architecture and design of moderately complex applications (Java); Program complex modules.
- Work with vendor directly and understand vendor provided system.
- Support code migration, including associated version control.
- Resolve complex application problems, propose and maintain current tools used by the clients.
- Support ongoing environment/applications server upgrades.
- Instruct, direct and check the work other programming personnel.
- Ensure secure coding practices are followed.
- Suggest and implement application infrastructure improvements.
- Change management and quality assurance focus.df-tc

Experience/Skills
In order to be considered for the Java Programmer Analyst employment opportunity, the qualified candidate must meet the following requirements:
- A Minimum of 2 years current experience using Java/J2EE/OO in a programming environment.
- Experience with Websphere (RAD6), SQL/Oracle/MS, SQL, HTML, JavaScript Design Patterns (Model-View-Controller, etc.), Strong understanding of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Service Oriented Architecture and design, Strong mentoring skills, Web Application Architecture.
- Experience in supporting package software.
- Bachelor's degree in the field or a related field and a minimum of 3 years experience in a Java Programming/development role.

It would be considered a plus if the candidate seeking employment had the following experience:
- Knowledge of lotus notes, PVCS, Peregrine, Mercury ITG, Familiar with Scrum and other Agile technique.
