JOB SUMMARY:

The Java Programmer/Coder will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient and maintainable software applications in an innovative and deadline driven environment.
Develops software applications using the Java programming language, procedures, and tools.
Responsible for designing software, coding software, testing software, and analyzing requirements.
Works with team members in the design and development of JAVA-based (and other environment) software modules.
Follows applicable published standards for software development under ZelTechs implementation of ISO 9001 and associated documents.

Other Tasks:
Working with assigned team members
Working with assigned tasking and tracking work progress of team members
Analyzing and documenting requirements
Designing/testing software
Coding (writing) software
Supports other activities as required (briefing/meetings, development of documentation, internal project schedules required to meet milestones).
Responsible for the effective use of material and equipment
Implements divisional and corporate policies
Occasional contact with others outside the work group

EXPERIENCE

Required:
2-3 years experience Java Web services background a plus,but not critical

Willing to participate in the full CMM/CMMI level 3 world of software development, including writing/updating documentation.

Desired:
Ability to apply fundamentals of OO design, development, and test as it relates to the development of software modules as tasked.
Ability to assess or develop software designs and assign tasks from the overall design to individual teams or team members.
Good people skills, communication skills, and the ability to work independently or with a group to accomplish assigned tasks.
In-depth knowledge in design and development of application frameworks using OO methodology; in-depth knowledge in design patterns and component-based design
Excellent working knowledge of Rational Rose, ClearCase and working knowledge of XML/XSL, UML preferred.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Proven ability for high-quality documentation and software engineering processes
Outstanding communication skills

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science
Desired: Masters Degree in a technical arena
Additional experience may serve as a substitute if the candidate has a degree in another technical field.
Java programming experience (2 years)
Object-oriented design/development experience (two years) required.
Experience with XML/XSL (two years) preferred.

SUPERVISORY TASKS / TRAVEL %/ PHYSICAL / SITE REQUIREMENTS:

Possibility of serving as a team lead as such responsible for supervision of a software development team consisting of approximately three software engineers and/or programmer analysts.

Responsibilities may include tasking, tracking progress, administrative duties (time cards, leave requests, etc.), personnel actions, and performance evaluations.

Salary Considerations:

Negotiable based upon years of experience, skill sets, and level of education, as well as geographic location of work site and job title classification. Minimum salary range starts at $24.00 hourly/non-exempt.
