Description:
TURRETFIRE is a project devoted to creating a baseline software load for CLOUD-enabled site storage. The goal is to provide an environment where developers can leverage the strengths of numerous projects to assist in forward deployed analytics. The baseline software load will include many complementary packages including, but not limited to, CLOUDBASE, Hadoop, and a mission service bus as well as mechanisms necessary to closely bind these capabilities. TURRETFIRE will also provide a flexible way for sites to extend the capabilities to fit their needs. Work on TURRETFIRE will include a multi-discipline and geographically distributed team. Potential work includes developing analytics to use the TURRETFIRE infrastructure, working with customers to enable new capabilities, and working with distributed sites to help define the work flow and processing mechanisms of the future. This position is specifically for two Software Engineers who will perform front-line engineering as a liaison between operational/technical customers and the development team. The candidate must have strong technical problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues identified customers and developers. The candidate will develop scripts, write code, and create interface capabilities that support the transition of new services into operations. The candidate also need to provide operational system metrics as required and provide projections for errors and performance.

Requirements:
At least five years of Software Development experience. At least three years developing software for RedHat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server/Platforms. At least two years Scripting experience with Unix Shell Scripting, eg, Bash (preferred), Bourne, Korn, C Shell. At least two years Scripting experience with Perl or Python. At least three years experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Java or C++. At least one year experience with a clustered file system, eg, Hadoop, Google File System (GFS), PolyServe. At least one year experience working with system security requirements.

Assets:
Experience with the evaluation and selection of COTS products. Experience with Open PBS cluster management and cluster workload management. Familiarity with load balancing resource management tools. Experience posting information to a project wiki. Experience writing technical documentation. Experience creating and providing briefings.df-tc
