Description
Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. Perot Systems is currently looking for a Java/Swing Developer to join our Consulting Solutions team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Developing software that conforms to a design model within its constraints.
  • Validating the implementation for conformance to the design.
  • Developing and executing unit test programs to ensure proper functionality and error handling.
  • Participating in creating design documents.
  • Preparing documentation for source code, unit test plans, requirements reviews, and implementation feedback as required.
  • Participating in the evaluation of software development tools.
  • Evaluating and using third-party class libraries.
  • Participating in the creation of design documents.
  • Participating in design and code reviews.
  • Participating in GUI design reviews with the customer.
  • Reviewing requirements documents.
  • Applying established development standards and coding style guidelines.
  • Working in compliance with configuration management rules and guidelines.
  • Communicating the status of development progress.

    Required Skills:

    • At least five years of industry experience developing and supporting computer software using Java/J2EE. Experience must include at least one project through the entire project life-cycle into production deployment.


    Required programming language experience includes demonstrated proficiency in developing Java software with a minimum of one year of experience with the Java Swing and at least two of the following Java technologies and one of the following development environments:

    Java Technologies:

    • Java Foundations Classes (JFC)
    • Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)
    • JavaBeans
    • Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB)
    • Java Servlet
    • Java Native Interface (JNI)
    • Java Server Pages (JNI)
    • Remote Method Invocation (RMI)
    • Demonstrated proficiency in developing software from an object-oriented design model. Experience in reading Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams is required.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in configuration management concepts and principles, as well as experience using one of the following tools:
    • Rational ClearCase
    • Microsoft Visual SourceSafe
    • Demonstrated proficiency in unit testing techniques and tools such as Rational Purify, Mercury Interactive WinRunner or XRunner.


    *This position requires 50% travel, because we are a consulting company and some of our engagements require travel to a customer.*
