Description
The Java Development Specialist is a fully qualified individual producer who applies a broad knowledge of engineering/automation concepts, practices and procedures. The applicant must be competent to work on fairly complex assignments (and/or portions of larger, complex systems) and perform a full range of development activities. The applicant must have a commitment to quality with persistent attention to details. The applicant must be self-motivated, capable of handling heavy workloads, under tight deadlines, with only general supervision. The applicant must have excellent communication and analytical skills that are required for a highly collaborative and fast-paced development environment. The applicant must be organized, detail oriented, multi-focused, and have the ability to prioritize tasks.

REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review, analyze and comprehend business requirements in the form of use cases.

Map business requirements into pattern-driven designs using the EJB platform and an established application framework.

Write client-side source code for complex user interfaces using the Eclipse RCP framework and an established UI application framework according to in-house coding standards and guidelines.

Write EJB server-side source code using established patterns, standards, and guidelines.

Design, construct, and execute in-code unit tests.

Apply configuration management procedures to all project deliverables.

Help implement and document in-house software engineering standards and guidelines.

Participate in black-box testing, including manual testing, recording defects, fixing defects, and tracking defects to closure.

Provide accurate estimates of assigned software engineering tasks and report status according to project proceduresdf-tc
