Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
May develop a range of products including device drivers, patches, operating system modifications, graphics modules, etc.
Analyzes, programs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs.
Using current programming languages and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.
Plans and directs studies of potential electronic data processing applications.
Develops and installs programs to support general business applications running on PCs.
Designs web pages, including graphics, animation, and functionality; develops infrastructure and applications related to pages.
May make hardware or software purchasing recommendations regarding web development.

Major Position Responsibilities:

A professional with broad knowledge and experience providing support for business critical applications. The candidate will be reconcile for application monitoring and will have to address the performance and stability of the application. The candidate must be competent to diagnose and resolve complex problems in production environment. The candidate should be able to quickly identify the problem area and resolve the issue or coordinate the resolution with other teams if required. The candidate should be capable of handling heavy workloads, and operating with only general supervision. Strong interpersonal skills are required as the candidate has to work with the business and technical resources to support the application.

(MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

· Must have at least 7 years of Java based development experience using Object Oriented methodology.
· Should have experience debugging application and server errors.
· Should have strong skills to analyze the application and server logs to identify the problem.
· Should be able to analyze the memory dumps.
· Strong programming experience with Java, J2EE, Servlets/JSP, EJB, HTML/DHTML, XML, JavaScript, Java Beans, JDBC, and Struts framework including Tiles.
· Strong programming experiences of Web Services (SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI), SOA technology, and AJAX.
· Knowledge on common Version Control Tools (Microsoft VSS, Subversion, CVS, etc.)
· Familiarity with Application Server, Messaging, Database and IDE in a Linux or Windows environment.
· Strong programming experience with SQL.
· Prior experience with JBoss Application Server / Weblogic Administration Server and basic administration.
· Relational Database experience (i.e. DB2, Oracle etc)
· Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
· Must have a “can do” attitude.

PREFERRED:

  • Prior health-care, insurance and/or Medicaid related experience.
  • Prior experience with BEA Weblogic Application Server and basic administration.
  • Knowledge of O/R framework such as Hibernate.
  • Intermediate PL/SQL (or just SQL) skills

    Education and Typical Years Experience
  • Education in Computer Sceince and related decipline with minimum 7 yrs of experience

    Special Requirements
  • Experties in Weblogic / Java / Unix
