Description
Java Applications Server Administrator
Location: Andover
Duration: 3-6 months


This position is for the Middleware Engineering group. This group defines and implements the middleware infrastructure for secure, highly available, high performance applications. The person fulfilling this position will work with application and other infrastructure groups to define application server and web server configurations, build and install the servers, and assist in trouble-shooting, tuning, and administration.

Experience/Skills
Required skills and experience:
"X In depth knowledge and experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting and tuning Sun Web Server, Sun Application Server.
"X Unix shell proficiency
"X Familiarity with Java language and J2EE applications
"X Troubleshooting application server problems in both development and production environments
"X Good communicator and experienced working in process-oriented environment.
"X Strong analytic and trouble-shooting skills

Preferred skills and experience:
"X Operations and support experience with demanding customers
"X Experience with and knowledge of other middleware technologies such as messaging (JMS), Web Services, or Access Management, Sun Directory Server
"X Experience installing and configuring Apache and Tomcat servers
