We are currently seeking an individual to perform the following job duties for one of our largest clients in the Banking & Financials industry:

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Overall Responsibilities:
Architect, Development, and Support of new J2EE Java software to specification
Design of new software components and services.
Writing technical code documentation
Maintenance of existing base of software, including the implementation of fixes and enhancements
Second-line support existing applications (i.e. escalation from support to development team)
Test Systems (e.g. unit, system, integration, stress, regression, migration)


Functional Responsibilities:

Work with business analysts to understand user requirements and develop technical solutions.
Design and develop next generation platform for Loans processing
Prepare technical code and support documentation for the delivered application components.
Adhere to set coding standards, procedures and techniques.
Work with other IT groups to configure, implement and support production.
Involved in full software development lifecycle project (SDLC) activities
Work effectively with team member in other locations situated globally.
Detailed unit testing (as specified in the design phase), component and acceptance testing to ensure successful release to production
Investigating and resolving defects

Java J2EE 1.4 and above (5+ Years)

Front end development using HTML, Javascript

Proficient with BEA Weblogic 8.1 and like containers.

Web Services (SOAP, XML, WSDL)
Database (5+ Years)


Proficient with JDBC / JNDI

Effective analysis of new and existing applications and platforms
Efficient Coding (i.e. adhering to coding standards, procedures, techniques and performance tuning)

Desired Skills:

C++ (3+ Years)

Multithreading / Distributed Processing
BEA Weblogic 8.1

Oracle 10G
Tibco EMS & JMS Enterprise Working Knowledge (Queue's, Topics, Bridging, Multi-Region)

Knowledge of rules engines

Knowledge of general fixed income

Knowledge of commercial bank loans business a major plus
