Our office specializes in Contract, Direct Hire and Contract to Hire technical careers throughout the state of Utah. Adecco Technical is seeking a Jr. SQL Database Administrator for a contract to permanent position in the Orem area. Responsibilities include: Identifying and overseeing the implementation of technologies and practices that will be used in the support and management of database systems. The Database Administrator has the responsibility for the maintenance and integrity of the information stored in the company databases. Technical knowledge of hardware and software is used to manage the Database environment required for the system. Respond to user requests for data modifications and reports. Report regularly on product quality to management; ensure data control and data integrity while identifying associated risks. Monitor and report status of the Database, present associated data, observations, product limitations, and recommendations to the Database Architect. Additional requirements include the ability to troubleshoot data related issues, component limits, and ensuring the integrity of all data structures. A successful candidate will appreciate the importance of process implementation, improvement, and control. Candidates should also have proven problem-solving skills. Formal methodology experience is a strong plus; will need to demonstrate good communication, and leadership. Tools and processes will be leveraged to ensure reusability of our efforts, but more importantly, our adaptability will allow Company to respond rapidly to changing business paradigms. Basic Function: - Respond to user requests for data modifications, and reports, while adhering to policies and guidelines. - Develop ad-hoc and canned reports as necessary. - Contribute to the overall availability and integrity of databases and database systems. - Participate in the development process as necessary by evaluating standards, evaluating data specifications, creating and evaluating queries, stored procedures and scripts and creating system documentation. - May be asked review changes to the database systems. - Maintain current documentation of all production databases, including schemas, procedures and standards. - Coordinate with administrators to create, implement and periodically test procedures used for backup and archival of data. - Participate in database restoration activities. - Adhere to standards and practices used for database management, including reporting, data modifications, schema modifications, and data security. - Enforce security and access policies and practices for database systems. - Review work with development teams during the deployment of new systems to provide a smooth transition to production environments and ensure ongoing maintenance and support. - Enforce the use of appropriate practices for all database modifications, including the use of development and test databases, and change control tools and procedures. - Respond to customer-reported errors. Escalate issues to appropriate organizations as necessary. Coordinate with other personnel as needed to determine the cause and resolution to reported problems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Minimum requirements of this position are: - 6 months experience with Database Administration on Microsoft SQL Server - Knowledgeable about Database Systems and SQL - Report writing, scripting, archiving, security, queries, & stored procedures - Familiar with Crystal Reports a + Equivalent combinations of the requirements may be considered.
