Description
TOP SECRET Maintain legacy USSTRATCOM systems while migrating them to the modernized architecture. Responsibilities require the ability to recognize software problems, develop creative solutions for simple to complex tasks, and to manage multiple tasks. TS Clearance required. Applicant must have experience with design following the UML process, and should have some of the following skills: Powerbuilder, Java, HTML, C, Sybase and/or Oracle, Rational Rose.
Experience desired in application/development/architecture including knowledge of model driven development, common presentation frameworks, proper layering/separation of responsibility techniques, common J2EE design patterns, and refactoring. Experience with legacy systems such as DMS, DPS, TIPS, and SWEARS would be a plus.

General Position Description
Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Typical Minimum Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.df-tc
