Description
Our esteemed client is seeking a Junior Business Analyst for a critical project. The Junior Business Analyst is a member of the client data interface implementation team. The primary objectives of this role are to (1) collect and assess the client’s customer and ticketing data for feasibility by profiling the data, (2) perform a source-to-target data mapping and (3) test the flow and accuracy of the data load process with respect to the data. This is accomplished by working under the direction of the Project Manager and with the assigned Account Executive. This position reports to the Project Manager.Essential skills required for this Junior Business Analyst position include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, knowledge of relational databases and basic SQL, well organized with an attention to detail, work under minimal supervision, able to communicate clearly, a Bachelor’s degree in business or Information Systems or similar area of study, and three years professional experience in a systems development or data processing environment.Key tasks for Junior Business Analyst position include engagement configuration, enhance client configuration document as needed, collect key business and technical contacts within the client’s organization and their corresponding contact information, secure a complete Customer Name and Address file for data profiling, secure a complete Subscriber ticket data file (historical and current season) for data profiling, single Ticket Buyer data file (historical and current season) for data profiling, secure a listing of all eMerge new users and provide to eMerge Sys Admin, secure an OrgID from the eMerge Sys Admin, and document client configuration.Additionally, the Junior Business Analyst will be responsible for Data Profiling. Data profiling is a technical analysis of data to describe its content, consistency and structure (The Data Warehouse Lifecycle Toolkit—The Kimball Group). Key tasks are: Profile customer data and document problems. Determine if customer record updates can be identified such as a LastUpdate (date) field within the customer record. Is this date identifier at the field and/or record level? Are there suppression exceptions? E.g. the client can telemarket for Donations but not for ticket sales, profile Subscriber data and document problems, determine how a show is identified then group and count on the distinct identifiers. For ticket transactions, determining if the changes ledgered (an offsetting new record is created) or is the existing transaction updated, profile Single Ticket data and document problems, determine how a show is identified then group and count on the distinct identifiers, for ticket transactions, determine if the changes ledgered (an offsetting new record is created) or is the existing transaction updated, document profiling findings, both good and bad. Additionally, the Junior Business Analyst will do source-to-target Field Mapping Tasks and complete source-to-target matrix. Finally, the Junior Business Analyst will do ETL Testing and develop and submit test scenarios for execution and subsequent inspection within relevant tables.
