Description
We have an exciting contracting opportunity for a junior Java/Eclipse Programmer with potential to be hired. This position involves extending existing application by adding new features and solving complex challenges for Eclipse based product's development tool. The position scope involves continuing development and trouble-shooting of issues of diverse complexities related to client product sets, to provide a timely and accurate response and implementing features. The candidate should be able to take complete responsibility/ownership of a given functional area and provide resolution with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities:
Develop and unit test product code according to company's quality standardsComplete code and other deliverables on scheduleProvide input to the Technical Writers for product documentationCandidates must have real Eclipse development experience and preferably product/framework development vs. applications. Candidates must have development experience and knowledge of Eclipse Core, SWT/JFace, GEF, RCP, EMF, JDT, etc.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of overall engineering experience
  • 1+ years of Java experience
  • Experience in developing Eclipse Plug-ins
  • Experience working with Java programming language
  • Thorough knowledge of Eclipse Core, SWT/JFace, GEF, RCP, EMF, JDT, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of object-oriented development techniques
  • Usage of design patterns; ability to model data and class interactions using UML
  • Experience with ANT build environment
  • Familiarity with agile and test-driven development methodologies
  • Familiar and experience with Java/JavaScript is a plus for future purposes
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
  • Team player and embraces teamwork
